Buying route
Start with the Whole Hammock Hang
A camping hammock is a small purchase only if you already understand the hang. The body, suspension, anchors, cover and sleep insulation solve different problems and have to make sense together. Use this route to turn a vague search into a list of exact checks.
Current-library update, November 2, 2026: The reviewed library now has 60 current hammock configurations plus the separate earlier Scout Classic reference. Cycle 64 adds the individually assessed open Kammok Roo Single UL: its 100-by-50-inch body and 300-pound body limit add matches at selected numeric thresholds, but its package has no integrated bug net or tree straps. Cycle-specific answer paragraphs in the anchored sections below supersede older totals; the partial library is not complete market coverage.
1. Decide what the hammock is for
Start with the main job: a short rest in the shade, a campsite seat, or a place to sleep overnight. A simple gathered-end body can be excellent for lounging but may need a separate bug net before a summer night. Some models integrate a net, structural ridgeline or spreader bar. Those features may save a separate piece; they can also restrict how the hammock hangs, which stands fit it and how much of the system you must carry. Do not treat an overnight shelter as just a wider day hammock.2. Compare body length, width and the maker's load figure
Use the model's actual fabric-body dimensions rather than its package size. Body length is a screening measurement, not a direct promise about sleeper height or comfort; width, diagonal position, fabric stretch and personal preference matter too. If the manufacturer publishes a body length or load limit in both customary and metric units, compare the numbers before using them. A contradiction should remain a question for the manufacturer rather than being silently corrected by a retailer or reviewer. The stated capacity is only one part of a suspended system. Check ratings and instructions for straps, connecting hardware, a stand and each anchor. A hammock's body rating cannot be copied onto the rest of the setup. Do not exceed the limit of any component, and don't interpret an undocumented value as safe simply because the web page has an empty specification field.3. Trace the load from the hammock to the anchor
Ask what is physically attached to the hammock ends: carabiners, toggles, continuous loops or another manufacturer-specified connector. Then identify the matching suspension. Straps in a separate accessory category are not part of a standalone hammock package. A bundle may add them, but the exact bundle should list its contents. If using tree anchors, select a suspension designed for the intended use and follow its manual and site rules. If using a freestanding stand, check the exact hammock model, body style and connecting hardware against the stand maker's compatibility list; the same brand name does not prove compatibility.4. Plan insect and weather protection separately
An integrated or add-on bug net is an insect screen. A rain tarp is a roof and wind/rain coverage layer; an underquilt or other suitable insulation addresses heat loss beneath the body. A net does not make a hammock waterproof or warm. Work out the shelter coverage and attachment plan for the site and forecast, then check whether the hammock's built-in ridgeline or spreader bars affect the tarp or stand options. A package called a “system” can include several of these pieces, but verify every listed item instead of assuming the name is a complete equipment list.5. Make the campsite and setup part of the decision
Before purchase, consider whether the trip has suitable, permitted and sound attachment points. Keep a fallback for sites without them. Read the exact setup and safety instructions, inspect textile and hardware before use, test an unloaded hang, clear the fall area and keep within the maker's setup limits. ENO's published safety instructions, for example, tell users not to hang its hammocks more than 18 inches above the ground; other products may specify their own rules. That figure is not permission to ignore a different manual, a land manager, or an unsafe anchor.6. Check the offer, not only the model name
The retail title can describe the body, a color, a two-piece strap bundle or a full shelter package. Confirm the exact model suffix and color, all included parts, the seller, current stock, shipping, warranty and return terms. A product image can show a tarp, tree straps or gear pocket that is not included. Read the package list and the full model assessment; use the finder as a way to organize known requirements, not as a substitute for setup instructions. Our first assessed model is the ENO JungleNest. Its built-in net, 10-foot body, standalone package and stand restrictions make a useful example of why the buying route starts with the entire hang rather than a generic “best hammock” label.
When straps must come in the same package
Cycle 67 same-package boundary: 54 of the 67 current references document tree straps in the same package, including standard Mantis and Mantis UL; both also include end connectors, a removable insect net and a rainfly. Their separate reviews distinguish the standard 40D/500-pound body from the 20D/300-pound UL body. End hardware is not a substitute for the listed tree straps, and none of these hammock-body limits rates a complete hang. Find all same-package strap matches → · Review Mantis and Mantis UL.
Cycle 68 same-package answer: 56 of 69 current configurations document tree straps in the same package. Sunda 2.0 bundles two Python 10 straps with an enclosed two-mode shelter; Wallaby pairs an open single hammock with two 10-foot straps, carabiners and an attached sack. The bundled straps do not rate either complete hang, and Wallaby's open body does not include insect screening or rain cover. Find all exact same-package strap matches → · Review Sunda 2.0 and Wallaby.
Cycle 77 same-package update: 56 of 70 current configurations document tree straps in the same package. The Swiftlet Everything Bundle adds a current Roo Double and freestanding stand, but names no tree straps; a stand and extension bar do not satisfy this tree-strap requirement. The exact bundle review separates its stand-based option from a tree hang, for which compatible straps must be sourced separately. Cycle 66 package decision: Across 65 current configurations, 52 document tree webbing in the same retail package. The standalone Roo Single includes two Racer Slings and two Kanga Claws, but its exact product page says tree straps are separate; the separately listed Roo Single/Python 10 Bundle is the one new same-package match. Its title, SKU, exact package image and Python 10 component page identify two 10-foot straps, although shared body copy says straps are not included—verify the seller's exact offer. Cycle 65 package check: Across 63 current configurations, 51 document tree webbing in the same retail package; all three Roo Double bodies include end slings and claws but explicitly omit tree straps. Racer Slings and Kanga Claws are hammock-end hardware, not the separate tree webbing. Find the exact same-package-strap set → · Compare Roo Double, Roo Double Printed and Roo Double XL.

Current answer: Across 59 current assessed hammock configurations, 51 document tree webbing in the same retail package: six ENO arrangements and 45 Hennessy offers, including Woodland Safari Deluxe Zip XXL M166; its page conflicts between a model-specific 72-inch claim and generic 42-inch copy. Across 59 current assessed hammock configurations, 51 document tree straps in the same retail package: six ENO arrangements and 45 Hennessy offers, including Woodland Safari M166, standard M346 Survivorman Zip XL and custom P316E Expedition and P336E Explorer XL 4Season builders. The M346 Survivorman XL review covers its exact screened, 130-by-59-inch body, 350-pound body limit and supplied 42-inch webbing. Its published packed weight excludes the separately stated webbing weight; the paired Shopify variant figure has no comparable package basis. The Woodland M166 review identifies the exact package's listed webbing and unresolved 42-/72-inch conflict. The custom P336E Explorer XL review distinguishes its three mutually exclusive 42-, 72- and 96-inch webbing variants from the standard M336 package; its 130-by-59-inch body and 300-pound limit are shared from the M336 listing, while the custom first step omits a fly and does not itemize the pad. The P316E builder offers the same strap lengths and optional fly but has no exact body dimensions. The standard 4Season Expedition Zip M316 is a separate screened, stock-fly package with 42-inch TreeHugger webbing; confirm pad contents before treating it as a complete cold system. The open Leaf M310 and M330 are 59-inch, same-package-strap loungers with 250- and 300-pound hammock-body limits but no listed integrated net or rainfly. The Cub is listed at 9 by 58 inches and 120 pounds; the custom Survivor Woodland builder has no exact body dimensions or capacity and its first step omits a fly. Standard Jungle M18, M68 and Woodland M118 packages include webbing; custom Jungle builders begin without a fly. The standard M68 page conflicts between a 42-inch line and a 72-inch specification. Read the Cub Zip M80, standard M18, Woodland M118, custom M18, custom M38, standard/custom M68 Safari and Survivor Woodland Zip assessments before treating their package contents as interchangeable. Six of the fourteen currently assessed ENO hammock configurations document straps in the same retail package: DoubleNest + Atlas, TravelNest, JungleNest + Helios, SuperNest SL + Apollo, JungleLink, and OneLink. The packages are not interchangeable: DoubleNest + Atlas and TravelNest pair open hammock bodies with two different strap systems; JungleNest + Helios adds an integrated stowable screen and Helios straps; the SL + Apollo bundle pairs a short mesh lounge body with Apollo straps; JungleLink combines an integrated-screen hammock, Helios straps and a DryFly tarp; OneLink adds Atlas straps, a separate Guardian net and ProFly tarp around an open DoubleNest. A same-package claim does not establish the capacity of every strap, anchor or complete hang.
Read the DoubleNest + Atlas, TravelNest, JungleNest + Helios, SuperNest SL + Apollo, JungleLink and OneLink assessments for their exact contents and distinct body styles. Verify the exact retail bundle and supplied suspension before ordering, then check anchor spacing and the maker's setup instructions.

The current standard Ultralite Backpacker Classic M20 and separate custom Classic body are both 10-foot, 200-pound arrangements with different package configurations. The 10-foot standard M20 is below the 10.5-foot XL tier.
The 10-foot Ultralite Backpacker Zip has the same length/capacity boundary in a side-zip custom package.
The standard Deep Jungle Zip M230 and Ultralite Backpacker Classic M20 also list 120-inch bodies; the M20 is a bottom-entry Classic, not the side-zip Backpacker. The standard Expedition Zip and Ultralite Backpacker Zip list 120-inch bodies; Hyperlite Zip is also 120 inches. The Scout Zip is shorter at 112 inches (about 9.33 feet), so it clears a 9-foot floor but not 9.5 feet.
Across 59 current references, 56 meet an 8-foot body floor and 23 reach 10.5 feet. The 130-inch Survivorman Zip XL M346 clears 10.5 feet but not 11; its 350-pound body limit and included pad/kit do not alter that fabric-length boundary. Standard M336 and custom P336E Explorer XL bodies share the 130-inch size, while 10-foot Leaf M310 and standard 4Season Expedition M316 fall below 10.5. Five distinct 12-foot Safari offers, including Woodland M166, are the only matches at 11 or 12 feet. The Cub Zip's 9-foot body meets a 9-foot floor but falls out at 9.5; the custom Survivor Woodland Zip and P316E builder have no exact body-length value. The M346 review identifies 130 by 59 inches as lower-fabric dimensions, not sleep clearance or anchor spacing. The exact custom P336E 4Season Explorer XL review distinguishes its documented XL body length from Expedition P316E, whose exact dimensions are unknown; the P336E builder's first step also omits the rainfly. The P316E review explains why its 250-pound chart limit does not supply missing body dimensions. The M316 page lists 120 inches of lower fabric, exactly 10 feet; that is not sleep clearance or anchor spacing. The custom Survivor Woodland Zip has no confirmed body length and therefore does not pass a numeric length threshold. The Cub Zip M80 lists 108 inches of body fabric (9 feet), a small 5-foot-4-inch/120-pound maker limit and no promise of personal fit. The open Leaf M310 is 120 inches and M330 XL 130 inches, each 59 inches wide, without a listed net or rainfly. The Hennessy 10.5-foot group includes 18 bodies listed at 130 inches and five 12-foot Safaris. Within the ENO-only subset, a minimum body length of 8 feet admits thirteen of fourteen configurations; the DayLoft's hammock body is shorter than the finder's floor. At 8.5 feet, ten remain because the separate standard SuperNest, SuperNest SL and SL + Apollo bundle each have an 8-foot body. The same ten meet 9 feet; a 9.5-foot floor keeps seven, including OneLink's DoubleNest body, and a 10-foot floor keeps only JungleNest, JungleNest + Helios and JungleLink. No ENO model in this subset matches 10.5 feet; the current Hennessy subset instead has 18 bodies listed at 130 inches—including M336, distinct Survivorman M346 and custom P336E 4Season Explorer XL bodies and Leaf Lounger XL M330—plus five 12-foot Safari offers at or above that threshold. These are body-length filters, not sleeper-height promises or anchor-span measurements.
The DayLoft's listed 9-foot-10-inch overall spreader-bar length is not its fabric-body length. Leaving length open avoids applying that numeric filter; the DayLoft remains a car-camp lounge assessment, not an overnight sleep-fit substitute. The 10-foot M310, M316 and M116 fall below 10.5; M346, M330 and P336E clear 10.5 but not 11. The separate custom Survivor Woodland Zip still has no exact length. Jungle M18 and Woodland M118 bodies are 120 inches; standard M68/M66 include flies while custom body-plus-webbing first steps omit them. The newly reviewed standard Deep Jungle Zip M230 is one of the current bodies at the exact 250-pound threshold; the standard bottom-entry Ultralite Backpacker Classic M20 meets 200 pounds but not 210. Their listed figures apply to the hammock body only, not to webbing, support ropes, anchors or a complete hang.
At 200 pounds, 57 of 59 current assessed hammock bodies meet the threshold, including the M346 Survivorman XL and Woodland M166; these are body ratings, not full-hang ratings. The standard 4Season Expedition Zip M316 and separate custom P316E builder use the chart's 250-pound hammock-body limit; the custom P336E Explorer XL shares the standard XL body's 300-pound limit. The standard M346 Survivorman XL is listed at 350 pounds and explicitly includes a foam pad, but does not rate the complete hang. The standard M336 and custom P336E Explorer XL share a 300-pound body limit, meeting 300 but not 310. The separate M346 Survivorman Zip XL is listed at 350 pounds, so it meets 350 but not 360. None of these figures rates the complete hang. At 120- and 130-pound floors, the M346, M316, P316E and P336E remain eligible, while the Cub Zip M80's exact product-page limit meets 120 but not 130. Hennessy's M80 product page pairs 120 pounds with 54 kg, while the US comparison chart's metric row says 68 kg, so the maker-source discrepancy stays visible and the 120-pound value follows the exact-model page. Four Hennessy Safari offers also meet 310 at their listed 350-pound body limit: standard/custom Jungle Safari M68 and standard/custom Safari Deluxe M66. The 250-to-300-pound Hennessy examples span more than one package: the standard Explorer Ultralite Zip XL, custom Explorer Ultralite Zip and custom Explorer Ultralite Classic sit at the lower rating tier, while the standard Explorer Deluxe Zip XL, Jungle Explorer Zip XL, custom Deluxe Classic XL and custom Deluxe Zip XL provide distinct listed 300-pound examples. The standard M66's stock fly/fixed-webbing package and custom Safari's no-fly first step remain separate 350-pound offers. Body limits still do not rate suspension, anchors or a complete hang.

Requiring tree straps in the same package and a 60-inch body width returns TravelNest, the DoubleNest + Atlas bundle and OneLink; a 61-inch minimum removes TravelNest while retaining both 76-inch DoubleNest packages. That shift follows the documented 60-inch versus 76-inch body widths, not an assumption about comfort.
Compare the 60-inch TravelNest with the 76-inch DoubleNest + Atlas bundle and OneLink. The OneLink package includes a separate Guardian net and ProFly tarp, unlike the simpler Atlas bundle. None of these body figures rates its suspension or anchors.
A 400-pound minimum plus same-package tree straps returns four configurations: DoubleNest + Atlas, TravelNest, SuperNest SL + Apollo and OneLink. Raising the threshold to 410 pounds removes all four. The SL + Apollo is a short open-mesh spreader-bar lounge package, distinct from the longer gathered-end TravelNest and DoubleNest arrangements. OneLink adds its separate Guardian screen and ProFly tarp. A hammock-body rating cannot be transferred to the included straps or anchors.

The same-package-strap set contains 42 current offers at 250 pounds and 25 at 300, including M346 and Woodland M166 at 350; at 310, ten remain: four 400-pound ENO packages plus six Hennessy offers at 350, M346 and five Safari configurations. M116, M316/P316E and Leaf M310 remain 250-pound examples, while P336E/standard M336 and Leaf M330 XL are 300-pound bodies. No strap-included body reaches 410. No currently assessed strap-included package has a 410-pound-or-higher hammock-body rating; this boundary is confined to the 59 current configurations. The M116, M316, P316E and Leaf M310 are listed at 250 pounds, custom P336E/standard M336 plus Leaf M330 XL at 300, and M346/M166 at 350; none, nor their webbing, reaches this body-only threshold. The Cub Zip is limited to 120 pounds, while the separate custom Survivor Woodland Zip has no verified capacity.

Cycle 74 three-way bundle cases: The case counts below apply the questionnaire’s hammock-body fields. For this package, a 500-pound body is paired with a 300-pound Swiftlet stand; the result must not be read as an included stand arrangement rated for 400 or 500 pounds. The 120-inch/69.3-inch body dimensions also do not guarantee personal fit. Review the bundle’s exact body-versus-stand limitations.

Exact intersections expose differences that the word “Double” alone hides. All dimensions are fabric measurements, and body limits are not complete-system ratings. Reviews: standard · Printed · XL.

Compare the standard 300-pound M240, custom XL M240 and 250-pound regular custom body with the 12-foot Safari, Backpacker Zip, Backpacker Classic and Hyperlite Zip before assuming a shared width means shared access, load limit or package completeness. The regular 10-foot body and three 10-foot/200-pound customs do not meet the 10.5-foot/300-pound case.
A 9-foot, 78-inch-wide, 300-pound request selects SuperSub; a 9.5-foot, 76-inch-wide, 400-pound request selects DoubleNest, DoubleNest + Atlas and OneLink. At 8 feet, 55 inches and 400 pounds, eight configurations match: DoubleNest, DoubleNest + Atlas, OneLink, SingleNest, TravelNest, standard SuperNest, SuperNest SL and SL + Apollo. Raising only the length floor to 8.5 feet removes the three short SuperNest bodies and leaves five. The short spreader-bar models are lounge designs, not source-backed overnight sleepers.

Raising capacity to 300 pounds leaves 19: 14 eligible 130-inch bodies, including M346, and the same five 350-pound Safari offers. The 10-foot Leaf M310 does not clear the length floor. Standard M66 and M68 include stock rainflies; their custom body-plus-webbing counterparts start without a fly. Body dimensions do not erase differences in entry, unresolved fabric or weight conflicts, the M118 double-layer pad interface or M68's webbing-length conflict. The open-lounge Leaf M310 lists a 10-foot body and same-package webbing; the M330 XL lists 130 inches (10 feet 10 inches). The standard model remains at a 10-foot floor but not 10.5, while the XL clears 10.5 but not 11; neither has a listed integrated net or rainfly.
The 10.83-foot custom Explorer Ultralite Zip clears 10.5 feet; the 10-foot regular Deep Jungle, custom Expedition Zip, and 120-inch Backpacker bodies do not.
The custom Deluxe Classic XL is another 130-inch Hennessy offer that clears 10.5 but not 11 feet.
The custom Deluxe Zip XL shares that 130-inch boundary and includes selected webbing in its custom offer.
The standard Explorer Deluxe Zip XL has the same 130-inch listed body length in a different package.
The 4Season Explorer XL also clears the 10.5-foot strap-included threshold but is shorter than the Safari custom body.
The standard Jungle Explorer Zip XL is another 130-inch, same-package-straps option in this partial comparison; its double-layer pad arrangement is a separate warmth/interface tradeoff, not a length advantage.
